Oaty Chocolate Chip Cookies

Delving into Mum's well loved recipe book years ago, I found this recipe for Oaty Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are quite delicious. Quick and easy to make and full of simple ingredients you'll find in the pantry. A tasty family favourite.

Ingredients

  • 1 C S.R flour

  • 1 C rolled oats

  • 1/2 C brown sugar

  • 1 T golden syrup

  • 100g butter

  • 1/2 C chocolate buttons (chopped roughly)

Method

  • Melt butter and golden syrup together

  • In a separate bowl mix flour, oats, sugar and chocolate together

  • Make a well in centre of dry ingredients

  • Pour butter/golden syrup mixture into well

  • Mix

  • Roll into balls, and place on a greased oven tray

  • Press down gently on each cookie with a fork

  • Cook in a moderate oven (approx 160 degrees celsius) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown

  • Remove from oven and leave on tray for a few minutes to cool slightly

  • Place cookies onto a rack to cool completely

  • Store in an airtight container

Tips

  • If you don't have self raising flour, you can make it by adding 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder to every 1 C of plain flour.
