What is weight inclusive nutrition counselling?

Weight inclusive nutrition counselling focuses on your health not your weight. It is part of the Health At Every Size® (HAES®) paradigm, which includes Intuitive Eating and Non Diet Approach.

 

Where previously you may have been told to ‘restrict’, ‘cut down’, ‘exercise more’, ‘watch your calories’, ‘eat healthy’, ‘have fewer treats’, ‘stop eating junk’, ‘try harder’, ‘do better’ (I could go on), with weight inclusive nutrition counselling, this will not be the case.

 

Your goals and desired outcomes will direct our sessions. We might talk about eating behaviours, food rules, body image, past dieting history, why you eat the way you do. And work towards health promoting behaviours including gentle nutrition and movement. Giving you the confidence, support and knowledge to enjoy a lifestyle focused on your health, rather than your weight.

 

You will be seen, heard and valued as you are, here and now. Your weight does not define your worth. And through our work together you will begin to see that changing your body size/shape isn’t, and never has been, the solution.
