Meet Anna

Imagine a world where everyone had the knowledge, understanding and confidence, to eat well for their health. Where there was no confusion, anxiety or guilt around food.

This is the motivation behind Dietitian At Your Table. Keeping good nutrition simple. Understanding that eating well can be delicious and enjoyable as well as nutritious and good for you. Looking at the 'big picture' - the importance of both physical and mental wellbeing for overall health (see my blog 'Not All About Food').

Hello and welcome! My name is Anna. I graduated from the University of Otago with a BSc in Human Nutrition and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics, in 2006. I have since worked in a variety of clinical specialties (including Diabetes, Cardiovascular, Weight Management, Gastroenterology, Burns, Oncology, Neurosurgery), in both NZ and UK health systems, in hospital and community settings.

I met my husband (a dairy farmer from Ireland), in Hamilton, soon after completing my postgrad training at Waikato Hospital. We have two gorgeous wee boys who keep us young at heart and help us to appreciate the little things in life. In my spare time I love photography, pilates, playing the piano and having fun with family and friends.

As a dietitian, I really am passionate about helping people understand what ‘healthy eating’ looks like. Food doesn’t have to be confusing, complicated or costly but it does have to be individualised - unique to you, your goals, medical conditions/requirements, taste preferences and life situation. As a New Zealand Registered Dietitian, that’s where I can help.

I’m a firm believer of ‘Everything in Moderation’ and a ‘Non Diet Approach’ to eating well, forming healthy habits for life.

I hope you enjoy the website, recipes and blogs!

Feel free to get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.

Cheers,

Anna
